But what is productivity?

According to the Royal Academy of Language , productivity is defined as the "relationship between what is produced and the means used, such as labor, materials, energy, etc.". In other words, productivity is the results and what is spent to generate them.

This means, by mere logic, that the fewer resources we spend and we have a greater number of products / services produced, the productivity will be better, and the more resources we spend, our productivity will be affected, right?

No, it is not.

This definition of productivity is removing the most important point in the labor chain from the equation: the worker. Without it, no company can carry out its operation because it does not have who does it, and resources must also be invested to guarantee the well-being and happiness of the workers within any business.

Gone are (or we are fighting because they are behind) the times in which factories and companies exploited their workers and focused little or nothing on their needs, even the basic ones. Now, it is more common to find businesses in which the worker is the fundamental piece of the puzzle, and they make them notice with initiatives that ensure their safety, well-being and happiness.

If you want to improve business productivity, you must take into account, to begin with, what it means to invest resources in the well-being of your workforce. Do not worry; These resources will be reflected in the impact that the following initiatives will have on your production and on the profits of your business.

Motivate your team

Take the time to ask your team how they feel, what concerns (work or personal) they have, how you can help them, if they have a problem with the functions they are performing at the time ... Although it may not seem like it, these types of approaches can make a difference in the relationship between you and your team, which will be reflected in greater loyalty and productivity.
